Historical Overview:

The Leopard 1 was a German main battle tank developed during the Cold War as the first tank produced in West Germany after World War II. Officially introduced in the 1960s, the Leopard 1 was designed to provide high mobility, effective firepower, and modern battlefield flexibility in response to evolving armored warfare doctrines and the growing threat of Soviet tanks in Europe.
